On Friday we ended the week by steaming the green oak ribs for about 20 minutes each and bending them into the clinker punt. The section of the ribs was 18/26mm. Most of them bent in successfully, largely due to the efforts of Jon Bray, Max White and Sarah Lee. Having employed the hot nailing technique a number of times, Jon helped us to prepare and coax the ribs into place. The rain was incessant.
